We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. We seek to bring students and teachers together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways

Being a member of Phi Alpha Theta has the following benefits: 1-year digital subscription to "The Historian" journal, ability to apply for Phi Alpha Theta national scholarships, ability to participate in Phi Alpha Theta associated conferences, and honor cords to wear at graduation.

Mission
Sigma Zeta is a national Science and Mathematics Honor society that works to promote interdisciplinary majors. We are involved in bringing in interdisciplinary speakers and also offer engagements to promote research in the community. Within our chapter at Concordia we have positions for President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Events are offered through Sigma Zeta throughout the year. Through this national organization, scholarships for research are available to undergraduate students and members are encouraged to attend the national convention that is held each year in different locations.

Sigma Zeta is the national honor society that honors scholars in the Natural Science and Mathematics disciplines. Membership is life-long and comes with many benefits beyond just listing a professional society membership on the student's resume. Sigma Zeta annually awards research grants to members to aid in research projects. This is an opportunity for those who have done research and need to present outside of campus. This entices conversations and collaboration within different departments about where new projects and funding can come from. Sigma Zeta essentially aids in building connections, gives experience to students to present, fulfills the Honors requirement at Concordia, and aids in future research funding.

Tri-Beta is a nationally recognized honor society with a chapter here at Concordia. We promote scholarship within the sciences by hosting student and guest speakers and organizing on and off campus events. Tri-Beta also works to inform students about graduate schools, the admission process, and national undergraduate research opportunities available in the summer. Through Tri-beta membership, students can apply for research grants and other academic opportunities.
