As a Reconciling in Christ ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we affirm full participation for persons of a plurality of gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, faith orientations, abilities, races, and cultures; we believe all personas are created by God in the image of God and are meant to live in relationship with one another. Here is a quick overview of the services we provide here at the CSS:

Academic Counseling: Our academic counselors can help you reach your academic potential by providing different techniques and strategies for things like test taking, time management, study schedules etc.

Tutoring & Writing Center: Tutors are upper class students who provide content support in a variety of areas and are recommended by their professors. The Writing Center tutors help students become more versatile, deliberate and effective writers.

Orientation & FYT: New students will become familiar with the campus, academic life, student activities and college procedures. FYT is a combination of three experiences – each designed to help students build confidence, competence and connection, all taking place during a few of the Engaged Citizenship Seminar times.

DRIVE: Determination. Resilience. Initiative. Vision. Empowerment. Some students experienced challenges or barriers in high school that negatively impacted their academic progress. This program is an opportunity to learn the best success strategies and insights at the very beginning of your college career.

The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) supports and promotes the student life experience. We manage student organizations, oversee Student Government Association, Campus Events Commission, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Commission, Intramurals and campus recreation, and key campus events such as MLK Day and Cornstock. We also manage the Parke Student Leadership Center which is open to ALL students as a work, study, hang out space.
